Atlanta Falcons cornerback A.J. Terrell was a guest on Good Morning Football on Wednesday to show off the throwback helmet the team will be wearing on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.
“I ain’t never wore the red helmet, but it put a smile on my face,” said Terrell on Good Morning Football. “You look good, you play good, so that’s definitely what we’re fixin’ to do,”
The NFL relaxed the rules for helmets prior to the 2022 season. In the past, the teams were only allowed to use one helmet during the season, but that changed prior to this year.

The red and black uniforms the Falcons wore prior to Jerry Glanville and the 1990’s switch to silver and black may not have represented the glory years for Atlanta. But they represented an identity and more unique look for the team.
The red and black being worn on Sunday against the 49ers has been universally embraced as a positive amongst Falcons fans… and from what it looks like, players too.
