Stanford football posted the reaction that Drew Dalman had when he was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the fourth round.
Players work their entire lives to get to this moment, and the wave of joy and relief was clearly evident when Dalman embraced his father.
His father Chris played seven seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, starting 64 games, despite being drafted in the sixth round. Chris also coached the offensive line for Atlanta in 2005 and 2006.
Dalman was named first team All-Pac-12 by the AP and coaches and was a team captain at Stanford.
Dalman should have the opportunity to play early for the Falcons with the departure of Alex Mack to the 49ers via free agency.
