Mel Kiper is the best known NFL Draft expert in the business, and Atlanta Falcons legend Roddy White took to Twitter to express his thoughts on Kiper’s pick for the Falcons.
“Mel kiper do me a favor don’t put Zach to the falcons no more,” wrote White on Twitter. “I don’t want no qb that can’t beat coastal Carolina on our team. No offense to zack this ain’t about u. I wish u all the best.”
Zach Wilson of BYU is projected to be a Top 5 pick in next Month’s NFL Draft. He threw for 3,692 yards, 33 touchdowns and only three interceptions in 2020. The Cougars went 11-1 including wins over UCF and Boise State, but the one loss was a 22-17 setback to Coastal Carolina.
Kiper isn’t the only one picking Wilson to the Falcons. In fact, it’s become such a popular pick that Tankathon now projects Wilson to Atlanta based on multiple Mock Drafts.
Obviously it’s a team game, and White knows this better than most having played for the Falcons. White was drafted out of UAB in 2005. The Blazers were 7-5 White’s final season with losses to Florida State, Tulane, USF, Southern Miss, and Hawaii.
White is second all time on the Falcons receiving list with 808 catches for 10,863 yards. Julio Jones is currently at 848/12,896, but White still holds the lead in touchdowns at 63 to 60.
