The Atlanta Falcons made four roster moves at the end of last week including placing offensive lineman Ethan Greenidge on injured reserve.
The signed four XFL players to replace Greenidge and three others including two defensive tackles Matthew Gotel and Caevon Patton. Patton was an All-XFL defensive line pick, and he appears to have kept his spot for the time being.
The Falcons announced they had waived Gotel and signed big LaColby Tucker. Tucker was listed 6’9 and 313 pounds when he played at Missouri Southern State in 2020. His size and athleticism have gotten him several tryouts including standing out at an XFL Combine last month.
Peter Warren wrote of Tucker on XFL.com after the event:

At 6-foot-8, LaColby Tucker stood out among the offensive lineman due to his size from the start. But Tucker was also a standout during all the drills. Tucker hasn’t played organized football in two years since playing at Missouri Southern State University in 2020. He said he has spent that time working out on his own.
“It’s fun to do this stuff because I know the work I put into it and I love it,” Tucker said. “The best part about it is when you put the work in, you see it come to fruition, you see the results pay off and everything. It’s the best thing ever.”
Tucker may be a longshot to make the Atlanta Falcons, but his tools were intriguing enough to get a shot at training camp this week. There’s an opening left by Greenidge’s injury, and Tucker is a big man to fill it.
