While the Atlanta Falcons have expectingly been quiet on the free agent market, they did make a move to secure a tight end via trade on Tuesday night.
The Falcons and Buffalo Bills came to terms on tight end Lee Smith. Adam Schefter reported the news on Twitter.
Smith (33) attended the University of Tennessee and Marshall and has played in the NFL for a decade. He’s mostly seen as a blocking tight end and could see a lot of action in Arthur Smith’s two tight end sets.
Smith had just four catches last year with the Bills, but that’s no surprise, he only has 64 catches in his 10 years in the league despite playing in 133 games and starting 73.
Always concerned about salary cap numbers right now, Smith as a cap friendly number at just $2.25M according to SportRac.
