The first unofficial Atlanta Falcons depth chart has been released by the team, and it looks a little strange to see Bijan Robinson as RB3.
Frankly, it shouldn’t be that surprising to see Robinson listed behind Tyler Allgeier and Cordarrelle Patterson. The league requires the Falcons to release an unofficial depth chart, but it has no bearing on actual playing time this early in camp.
If the Falcons were starting Week 1 on Sunday instead of preseason game one on Friday, does anyone have any doubt that Robinson would be a key player in the Falcons’ offense?
Head coach Arthur Smith said earlier in training camp that he wasn’t interested in who was listed as WR1 or WR2. The Falcons have several interchangeable playmakers capably of lining up in different spots like Robinson, Patterson and Kyle Pitts.
Other players of note on the depth chart:
- Matt Hennessy is still listed as the No. 1 left guard despite being injured the last week.
- Mack Hollins is listed as a starting receiver along with Drake London.
- Calais Campbell was cleared for practice on Tuesday and is listed among the starters.
- Arnold Ebiketie is a starter at edge rusher.
- Jeff Okudah is still listed as a starting corner despite an injury that could keep him out for several weeks.
- Dee Alford is listed ahead of Mike Hughes at Nickel
