Senior NFL columnist Pete Prisco of CBS Sports recently released the top of his NFL Mock Draft, and let’s just say it was a different take for sure.
Prisco has the Atlanta Falcons passing on quarterback Justin Fields and offensive tackle Penei Sewell to draft cornerback Patrick Surtain II out of Alabama.
That pick in itself isn’t a total reach, though it’s hard to picture both Fields and Sewell dropping out of the Top 4, but Fields at No. 8 to the Panthers while offensive tackle Christian Darrisaw of Virginia Tech leaps to No. 6?
At No. 9 the Broncos are taking linebacker Micah Parsons of Penn State, while passing on desperately needed cornerback Caleb Farley out of Virginia Tech.
LSU receiver Ja’Marr Chase seems to be a popular pick at No. 3 with the Dolphins, and Prisco pegs Chase in that spot. But it makes more sense for the Dolphins to move down a few spots, like say to No. 8 to pick up a receiver while a quarterback like Fields would still be on the board.
There is no right or wrong when predicting the future, but hindsight might not be kind to Prisco’s Top 10.
If Alabama D. Smith WR or Alabama Running Back ATL Falcons Would Foolish Not Grab
I wouldn’t want another receiver at #4. Might be a chance to get Najee Harris in the 2nd. I wouldn’t mind that.
