The Dallas Cowboys have already signed former Atlanta Falcon Keanu Neal as a free agent, now they’re looking to add Damontae Kazee as well.
Michael Gehlken reported the news on Twitter.
Kazee spent four years with the Atlanta Falcons and had cemented himself as a started before tearing his achilles last season.
Kazee was a good scouting job by the Thomas Dimitroff regime as he was taken in the fifth round in the 2017 NFL Draft before starting 34 games in his four seasons with Atlanta. Kazee had his best season in 2018 when he had 60 tackles, seven interceptions with 10 passes defended.
According to Gehlken, the Lions are also a possibility for Kazee if the Cowboys fail to come to terms with the former Falcon.
Kazee made just over $2.2M with the Falcons last season according to SportRac. Should he get back to his pre-injury form, he’d be a bargain at that price. Achilles injuries are tricky and typically take at least a year to fully recover.
