Dates set for Falcons and Fish Joint Practice

The Atlanta Falcons and Miami Dolphins are set to play a preseason game on Saturday, August 21st. They announced earlier this year that they would conduct joint practices during camp this summer.

NFL Insider Adam Caplan revealed those dates on Twitter.

The Falcons and Dolphins should be plenty sick of each other after practices on August 18th and 19th concluding with the game on the 21st. But the risk of injury is cut in half with two teams at practice instead of just one.

The Dolphins present an interesting challenge to the Falcons in the pre-season. Despite a strong 2020 season that saw them go 10-6, Kevin Seifert of ESPN predicts that Miami will miss the playoffs in 2021

The Dolphins finished 20th in total defense last season and could be what Atlanta needs to break in a new scheme under Arthur Smith.

Of course second year quarterback Tua Tagovailoa must like the opportunity to go against the Falcons 32nd ranked pass defense that will be breaking in at least two new starters in the secondary.

Atlanta begins its preseason against the Tennessee Titans on August 13th. A game rich with storylines for what might normally be a meaningless preseason game. Julio Jones first game with the Titans. Arthur Smith came from Tennessee to take over Atlanta.

Atlanta vs. Tennessee might be one of the highest rated preseason games in Falcons recent history.

Atlanta wraps up the preseason against the Cleveland Browns on August 29th before its season opener against the Eagles on September 12th.
