In a bit of irony, the Atlanta Falcons added former Tennessee Titans wide receiver Tajae Sharpe last night.
Ironic because it was another Sharpe, Shannon not Tajae, that sent the NFL into a state of shock yesterday as Julio Jones said he was out of Atlanta in a segment in which it appeared Jones didn’t realize he was live on TV.
While Jones looks to be out the door this summer, helping to justify the selection of Kyle Pitts with the No. 4 draft pick, Tajae Sharpe has a chance to make the roster with the Falcons.
The 26 year old was a fifth round selection out of UMASS and played for Arthur Smith the last two seasons, though his time was cut short in 2020.
HIs 2018 and 2019 seasons with the Titans saw him combine for 51 catches, 645 yards and six touchdowns.
He should compete with rookie Frank Darby among others for the third receiver role on the roster in 2021.
