The Atlanta Falcons were awarded three extra draft picks as compensatory picks after losing free agents the previous year. The Falcons receive two fifth round selections and a sixth round pick
The Falcons lost Vic Beasley, De’Vondre Campbell, Adrian Clayborn, Austin Hooper, and Wes Schweitzer. Atlanta added Dante Fowler.
The formula for how the compensatory picks are awarded is based on net loss.
The draft this year is deep on the interior offensive line as seen at the Senior Bowl. We took a look last week at some of the players who could be available in later rounds. Players that the Falcons could stockpile with the extra picks.
