The Atlanta Falcons look to be close to signing free agent wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson.
Patterson has spent the last two seasons with the Chicago Bears. At 6’2 and 240 pounds he is a physical presence who had 21 receptions for 132 yards last season.
Receiving wasn’t Patterson’s main contribution to the Bears though. As a kick returner, Patterson averaged 29.1 yards per return last season and 29.5 in 2019. He’s primarily been a return man in his nine year NFL career and been a First-Team All-Prol selection four times, including each of the last two seasons.
Patterson has confirmed that he won’t return to Chicago with his own post on Twitter.
Patterson was rated a 5-Star wide receiver prospect by Scout.com before signing with the Tennessee Volunteers. He had over 1,000 yards from scrimmage with the Vols before being taken by the Minnesota Vikings in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft.
