The Atlanta Falcons have lost Pro Bowl long snapper Josh Harris to free agency according to a report from Tom Pelissero.
“The Chargers are signing Pro Bowl LS Josh Harris away for the Falcons on a four-year, $5.6 million deal with $1.92M guaranteed, per source,” reported Pelissero on Twitter.
Harris was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2021, his tenth season in the NFL.
Harris is one of many Atlanta Falcons who have left the team via free agency already including wide receiver Russell Gage and linebacker Foye Oluokun.
As of Wednesday morning, the Falcons were one of just nine team who had not signed a free agent from outside the team. Atlanta announced they had re-signed one of their own free agents in kicker Younghoe Koo, but they haven’t brought anyone in from the outside.
That said, the big news that the Falcons are waiting for is a decision from quarterback Deshaun Watson. It was revealed on Tuesday that Watson requested to meet with the Falcons and with a full no-trade clause in his contract, that was a positive sign for the Falcons.
The New Orleans Saints are considered the favorites for Watson, but the Falcons have a chance to get the 26-year old quarterback that would make a smooth transition from the soon to be 37-year old Ryan.
