The Atlanta Falcons have been busy adding to their 53-man roster while flushing out their 16-man practice squad.
Earlier today the Falcons added Georgia-native, offensive tackle Chuma Edoga and defensive tackle Matt Dickerson to the 53-man roster, and they have most recently announced more than a dozen names to the practice squad.
Of the 13 names, only wide receiver Josh Ali and Ka’Dar Hollman weren’t with the Falcons in the preseason.
CB Matt Hankins
CB Ka’Dar Hollman
DL Derrick Tangelo
OL Justin Shaffer
OL Ryan Neuzil
OL Tyler Vrabel
OLB Jordan Brailford
RB Caleb Huntley
S Teez Tabor
TE MyCole Pruitt
WR Cameron Batson
WR Frank Darby
WR Josh Ali
Ali had just over 600 yards receiving for the Kentucky Wildcats last season and Hollman was a sixth-round draft pick of the Green Bay Packers in 2019. He saw action in 14 games, including one start with the Packers in 2020.
Two notable players missing are defensive tackle Abraham Abdullah, who was one of the team’s best defenders in the preseason and running back Qadree Ollison.
The addition of Dickerson to the 53-man roster may have blocked a path for Abdullah. Ollison rushed for 5.0 yards per carry with the Falcons last year and may be holding out for a spot on a 53-man roster elsewhere.
NFL rules allow players to flex to the active roster on game day three times during the season before they must be exposed to the waiver wire again.
The Falcons have three open spots left on their practice squad. We will keep this page updated with the latest roster news.
