The Atlanta Falcons have signed tight end Ryan Becker to their active roster. Becker was on and off the Falcons squad in the 2021 season, but didn’t appear in a game.
Becker spent most of his time with the Falcons on the practice squad before being waived by Atlanta on November 8th.
Becker played his college football at SMU where he played in 49 games over four seasons. He was used mainly as a blocker as he only had 16 catches for 198 yards across his career.
He has good size at a listed 6’5 and 248 pounds, but it doesn’t appear he’s being signed to take the spot of free agent Hayden Hurst. Becker looks more like a camp body than a future target of quarterback Matt Ryan.
Becker is from Marble Falls, Texas and interestingly enough made it to the Texas High School Rodeo Association’s team-roping finals.
