The Atlanta Falcons continue to build depth with their 90-man roster heading towards fall camp by signing Breon Borders according to their official site.
Borders is a 27-year old veteran who has seen time with multiple teams including the Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars, Washington Commanders, Arizona Cardinals, and he hit the Falcons double having played for both the Tennessee Titans and Chicago Bears.
He played his collegiate ball with the NC State Wolfpack and was signed out of college by the Buffalo Bills. He saw his most extensive action in 2020 with the Tennessee Titans when he got five starts in six games and had an interception.
Though he was a defensive back, he likely crossed paths with head coach Arthur Smith who was hired from the Titans after the 2020 season.
Borders also saw a start in 2019 with the Jaguars. For his career, he has played in 32 games across six seasons including six starts. He has 42 tackles and an interception.
The newest Falcons player has also seen extensive time on special teams, logging over 100 snaps in all but two of his six seasons.
The Falcons will have to pass out name tags in their defensive back room this summer. Borders joins a host of new Falcons defensive backs including fellow cornerbacks Jeff Okudah, Mike Hughes and rookie Clark Phillips III.
Safeties Jessie Bates and DeMarcco Hellams are also new to the team.
Borders has seen some time at both cornerback and safety in his career, but he will likely be competing for a roster spot as a backup corner.
