The Atlanta Falcons started their rookie camp over the weekend, and the highlights give us a first look at undrafted quarterback Feleipe Franks, tight end Kyle Pitts, and wide receiver Frank Darby.
Franks (#15) was undrafted out of Arkansas before signing with the Falcons as a free agent. He should make the roster as at least the third quarterback behind A.J. McCarron, but he could move up to the backup role with a strong pre-season.
Day 1 Highlights
Franks had a good year at Arkansas in 2020 after transferring from Florida. He passed for 2,107 yards in nine games and had 17 touchdowns against only four interceptions.
He has good mobility and added 204 yards rushing after rushing for 350 yards and seven touchdowns with the Gators in 2019.
Darby (#88) is a bundle of energy at the wide receiver position.
The Senior Bowl standout measured 6’0 1/8″ in Mobile. He had a productive career at Arizona state where he played as a freshman and improved every season before the pandemic cut his senior season short.
As a junior Darby had 31 catches for 616 yards, a healthy 19.9 average, and eight touchdowns.
