The Atlanta Falcons selected über talented tight end Kyle Pitts out of Florida with their first round selection in the NFL Draft on Thursday. On Friday, they revealed his new number.
Pitts will wear #8 for the Falcons in the 2021 season.
When doing pro comparisons for Pitts, it is almost always with jumbo receivers like Plaxico Burress or Calvin Johnson, rather than other tight ends. His number will make that comparison even easier.
From a scheme standpoint, Pitts will be used more like Shannon Sharpe than Jay Novacek. He’s a tight end in name only. His primary contribution to the Falcons will be as a receiver.
The Falcons have several holes to fill before the start of the 2021 season, including a gaping hole at safety.
Earlier today we took a look at who the Falcons could target with their first pick in the second round tonight.
