BYU quarterback Zach Wilson
Atlanta Falcons News NFL Draft

QB Target No. 1 in Key Metric

Former BYU quarterback Zach Wilson has been the most popular pick of Mock Drafts so far this year according to NFL Mock Draft Database.

It’s easy to see why scouts have fallen in love with Wilson. He has rare arm talent. He’s able to make throws that other quarterbacks in the NFL, let alone the draft, would even attempt.

And he’s completing them.

Pro Football Focus says he’s the highest graded quarterback in college football on throws of 20+ yards.

Wilson doesn’t need to set his feet to throw with power. His big play ability would be key in Arthur Smith’s play-action based passing attack.

I don’t think Wilson is going to be available at No. 4. After Trevor Lawrence goes No. 1 overall, Wilson will likely go in the next two picks. But if he’s available, the Falcons should take a hard look.
