Raheem Morris could be Rams Defensive Coordinator

Raheem Morris has surfaced as a front runner for the defensive coordinator position with the Los Angeles Rams.

Morris served as an Atlanta Falcons coach for the past six seasons after being a head coach of the Buccaneers. Morris started with the Falcons as a defensive back coach before the 2015 season and culminated as the interim head coach after Dan Quinn was fired in October.

He was promoted to defensive coordinator with the Falcons in 2019 and was serving in that capacity when he was named interim head coach.

Morris led the Falcons to a 4-7 record after taking over, the only four wins in a 4-12 campaign. He has a rapid up and down career as a the head coach of the Bucs with a 3-13 record in 2009, followed by 10-6 in 2010, and he was let go after a 4-12 record in 2011.

The Rams lost  Brandon Staley, their previous defensive coordinator, to the Chargers as Staley was named head their head coach earlier in the week.
