The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed former Atlanta Falcons linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski according to NFL.com.
Kwiatkoski spent last season with the Falcons and appeared in 12 games with seven tackles. He appeared exclusively on special teams for the Falcons, logging 228 snaps, third-most in his career.
An 8-year veteran, Kwiatkoski spent four years with the Chicago Bears after being drafted in the fourth round out of West Virginia. He started 22 games for the Bears and had 184 tackles and six sacks before moving to Las Vegas.
He spent 2021 and 2022 with the Raiders and accumulated 102 tackles and a sack.
Kwiatkoski has found a team for the time being, but last year’s leading tackler Rashaan Evans is still looking for a job. Evans had 159 tackles for the Falcons last year, a career high.
Evans is still just 27-years old but was left unsigned during the opening of the free agent period.
The Falcons signed linebacker Kaden Elliss from the New Orleans Saints in free agency and are looking to team him up with second-year pro Troy Andersen in the middle of the defense.
The addition of Elliss seems to have taken Evans’ spot on the roster, but it’s not out of the question the Falcons could bring him back during fall camp if he’s still a free agent.
