Steve Cannon named NFL’s Salute to Service Winner

The Atlanta Falcons Steve Cannon was the Atlanta Falcons’ nominee for the Salute to Service award from the NFL. Cannon is the CEO of AMB Sports & Entertainment, the Arthur Blank Family of Businesses which includes the Atlanta Falcons.

The Salute to Service Award presented by USAA acknowledges the exceptional efforts by members of the NFL community to honor and support U.S. service members, veterans and their families.

Cannon got a video call from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to let him know that he was this year’s winner.

“As you know this is one of our great awards,” said Goodell. “Your support of US Service Members and our veterans and their families has been incredible, and we thank you so much for your leadership in this area and so many others. And more importantly your service to our country. You make us proud.”

Cannon was joined on the call by his family members and dedicated the award to his brother Mark who passed away in 2014.

“I am so humbled and I feel honored to be connected to a platform as powerful as the NFL to do good things around the world,” said Cannon. “Whether that’s social justice or my passion is taking care of those that serve around the country and put themselves in harm’s way.”

The Falcons have made this award their own recently winning four of the last five years  including Cannon’s achievement this year.

Previous winners of the Salute to Service award include:

2019 Donnie Edwards
2018 Ben Garland
2017 Andre Roberts
